Why you need it
- You write it on invoices (Faktúra) and in contracts.
- It is used to find you in public registers.
- You need it to communicate with institutions and partners.
An IČO is given when you register a business. For example, when you open a živnosť at the živnostenský úrad (trade licensing office). It is usually an eight-digit number. It is public: it is not shameful or dangerous to show it on your website or an invoice. Do not confuse IČO with DIČ (tax number) — these are different numbers that are often listed together in business details.
