Agentúra dočasného zamestnávania (temporary employment agency) is a staffing agency that officially hires an employee and then temporarily sends them to work for another company (the user employer). Many Ukrainians find work this way, so it is important to understand who pays you and who is responsible for you.
Key points about such agencies
- the agency is your employer — it signs the contract, pays your salary, and pays insurance contributions;
- the agency must have an official permit (povolenie) for this activity;
- your conditions and pay should be comparable to those of permanent employees at the company where you actually work.
Before signing, check that the agency is legal and that the contract is with them. Also, ask for the place of work, position, and pay rate to be recorded in writing — it is difficult to prove verbal agreements later. If you are paid "in an envelope" and have no documents, it is not a legal agency, but a risk of working illegally.
