Official translation (court or certified translation) is an official translation of a document made by an official translator from the list of the Ministry of Justice. Institutions accept Ukrainian documents (certificates, diplomas, references) only with such a translation, not a regular one.
What it looks like
- The translation is stapled together with the original document or its certified copy.
- It has a special clause (doložka) and the translator's round seal.
- The translator is found in the register of experts, translators, and interpreters of the Ministry of Justice.
The price is usually calculated per standard page (normostrana), so the cost depends on the volume. Clarify in advance whether your case requires a translation from the original or from a notarized copy – the requirements of institutions vary. The finished translation is usually valid as long as the data in the document itself has not changed. Some documents may require an Apostila or other confirmation of authenticity – this depends on the type of document and the institution, so clarify the requirements in advance.
