KKV / kód 95

Professional driver qualification card (code 95)

What does “KKV / kód 95” mean in Slovakia?

KKV (kvalifikačná karta vodiča - driver qualification card) with the mark «kód 95» in the driver's license confirms the right to professionally transport goods or passengers. Without it, C+E license alone is not enough to work as a driver.

To get it, you must complete a course and pass an exam (and to renew it, you need periodic training). In job offers for "vodič kamióna" (truck driver), the requirement is stated as "KKV/kód 95 + tachografová karta" (tachograph card). Ukrainian qualifications can be exchanged through a separate procedure – check at [minv.sk](https://www.minv.sk).

Important. "I have a C+E license, but no code 95" is a common situation. For professional driving, get the qualification code. Otherwise, you can only drive outside of professional rules.
