The bank ČSOB explained the night outage with light self-irony. It happened during the night from Thursday, July 30, to Friday, July 31: from 00:01 to 01:00 bank clients did not have access to online banking. And on the weekend, there was a queue for mBank — where instant payments will be "down" for several hours.
If you could not log into the ČSOB (Československá obchodná banka) app tonight, there is no need to panic. This was a scheduled service outage, which the bank warned about in advance.
What already happened at ČSOB (Československá obchodná banka)
During the night from 00:01 to 01:00 several bank channels were not working:
- mobile app ČSOB SmartBanking;
- internet banking Moja ČSOB;
- third-party services via ČSOB API (PSD2);
- BusinessBanking Lite for business clients — here the restriction lasted longer, until 01:30.
ATMs and card payments in stores and online worked as usual: the outage only affected digital access to accounts. By the morning of July 31, all services were restored.
What awaits mBank (mBank) clients on the night of August 2
The story here is narrower but longer. On the night from Saturday, August 1, to Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 00:30 to 04:30, mBank clients will not be able to send or receive instant payments.
About an important detail the bank itself warns: attempts to send an instant transfer during this time will be rejected, not "stuck in the queue." That means the money will not go through, and the payment will have to be repeated manually after the work is finished.
The reason is a technical outage on the side of an external provider who supports the instant payment system. All other types of transfers will work normally, so if the payment is not time-critical, it can be made as a regular SEPA transfer.
What to do if you plan to transfer
If you are an mBank (mBank) client and plan to transfer money on the night of Sunday — to repay a debt, pay rent, or send money to relatives in Ukraine — do it before midnight on Saturday or postpone it until Sunday morning after 04:30. As Aktuality writes, this is not the first such restriction for clients of major Slovak banks this summer, so people will have to get used to these night "technical windows."
If an instant payment does not go through during the specified hours, it is not a failure or account blocking. Just wait for the outage to end and repeat the operation.
