Railway stops are usually explained by technical failure or track repair. This morning, July 31, on the section between Malacky and Veľké Leváre, the reason was tragic: a train hit a person.
As local media report, traffic on this section was completely stopped at 06:01. The accident involved RegioJet 1044 train, which was traveling from Bratislava main station to Praha-Zahradní Město station. All emergency services were immediately called to the scene, and the police started investigating the circumstances of the incident.
The consequences were felt by thousands of morning passengers on the Bratislava — Kúty route. This is one of the busiest suburban routes to the west of the country, used daily for work and study.

- The rest ran with significant delays.
- RegioJet 1044 itself was delayed by 149 minutes.
Carriers organized replacement buses for passengers of canceled trips or offered to transfer to other trains. Full traffic on one track was restored at 08:18, so the delay on the section lasted more than two hours during the morning peak.

This is not the first similar case in the region: last October, on the same Malacky — Veľké Leváre section, a train also hit a person in the evening, and traffic towards Bratislava was temporarily stopped then. The police continue to urge crossing tracks only at designated places.
