The Trnava region is one of Slovakia's most industrialized regions and, at the same time, its agricultural breadbasket. The industrial core is Trnava with the Stellantis car plant, electronics, and food industry, while the fertile south of the region adds agriculture. Proximity to Bratislava makes the region attractive: many residents work in the capital's agglomeration while maintaining a lower cost of living.
The south of the region (Dunajská Streda, Galanta) is largely Hungarian-speaking, so Hungarian can be useful there, although it is not mandatory for industrial roles. People with temporary protection (Dočasné útočisko — temporary refuge) can be employed without a separate permit; the paperwork (Informačná karta — information card) is the employer's responsibility.
