About the field
Technical education is provided by leading polytechnics – the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU), the Technical University of Košice (TUKE), and the University of Žilina (UNIZA), which is strong in transport fields. The spectrum covers mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, and metallurgy.
The study is practice-oriented, with laboratories and cooperation with industry. Full-time study in Slovak at state universities is free; some programs are available in English (paid). After completing a master's degree in engineering fields, the title Ing. is awarded.
The diploma is recognized in the EU. To enroll from Ukraine, you will need recognition of your high school diploma, and for study in Slovak, language proficiency at level B1–B2. Most technical programs admit students based on their average high school grade.

After completing the master's level in engineering fields, the title Ing. (inžinier) is awarded. The bachelor's level grants the title Bc.
