About the Faculty
The Faculty of Management and Informatics of the University of Žilina in Žilina (FRI) is a structural part of the university, located in the city of Žilina. The institution unites 7 departments, where 1540 students study. The faculty specializes in training specialists in the fields of management, economics, and information technologies.

Can I enroll at FRI UNIZA without an entrance exam?+
At FRI UNIZA, most applicants are admitted without an entrance exam. Admission without an exam is guaranteed if at least one of the criteria is met: the average grade in core subjects is no worse than 1.70, the result is at least the 60th percentile in mathematics or logical thinking, a valid CISCO CCNA certificate, or a prize-winning place in an olympiad or competition.
If none of the criteria are met, the applicant takes a test in mathematics and logical thinking lasting 120 minutes. The application for 2026/2027 must be submitted by 04/30/2026, the fee for the admission procedure is €20, and the admission procedure itself takes place on 06/04/2026.

What is the language of instruction at the faculty and is it free for Ukrainians?+
The primary language of instruction is Slovak. The flagship "Informatics" program is also offered in English. Full-time study in Slovak at a state Slovak university is free – €0 tuition for the standard duration, and this rule is the same for citizens of Slovakia, the EU, and foreigners, including Ukrainians.
Only the application fee (€20) is paid. Studying in English is usually paid, so the amount should be clarified separately with the faculty. For free study in Slovak, a sufficient level of Slovak language proficiency is required.

The admission fee for FRI UNIZA is €20 — the same amount for electronic and paper applications. The application is submitted through the e-application (ePrihláška) on the University of Žilina portal.
