About the Faculty
The Faculty of Transport and Communication Operations and Economics is a structural unit of the University of Žilina in the city of Žilina. The institution specializes in training professionals for the transport industry, logistics, and communication infrastructure. The faculty structure includes seven departments covering all types of transport and economic disciplines.
Studies are conducted at the bachelor's and master's levels, mainly in Slovak. Students study transport organization, transport economics, logistics management, and digital communication technologies. The programs are practically oriented, allowing graduates to work in road, rail, air, and water transport.
To apply, you need to submit a prihláška (application form) and pay a fee of 30 euros. Students can expect accommodation in an internát (dormitory) if places are available.

There are no entrance exams: selection is based on high school results. The second round is convenient for Ukrainian applicants who complete their high school diploma nostrification in the summer. Applications are submitted electronically through the information system of the University of Žilina.

The faculty is a leader in Slovakia in transport and logistics, with 7 departments covering different types of transport and economics. Bachelor's programs include road / railway / air / water transport (Cestná / Železničná / Letecká / Vodná doprava), communication (Katedra spojov), as well as economic fields: freight forwarding (zasielateľstvo) and logistics, distribution technologies, e-commerce and management, enterprise economics and management.
This wide range is due to Žilina's role as a transport and logistics hub and the presence of a large Kia car factory nearby. The diploma is recognized in the EU; graduates are in demand in logistics, transport, railway, and postal/courier companies.

Is education free at FPEDAS and is knowledge of Slovak needed?+
Full-time study in Slovak within the standard period is free for all students, including Ukrainians under temporary protection; fees are charged only for exceeding the study period or for a second parallel study. The main teaching is in Slovak, so sufficient language knowledge is required for economic and technical subjects.
Since there are no entrance exams and the fee is moderate (€30), admission is available to applicants with completed secondary education. The University of Žilina has its own dormitories, and Žilina offers a lower cost of living than Bratislava, making this faculty a practical choice for studying transport and logistics economics.
