Passengers can expect several important changes. According to the railway company ZSSK, a long-term closure in the central part of the country ends on May 10. However, large-scale repair work will start in the east the very next day.

From May 10, repairs will officially end on the Telgárt — Červená Skala section. This means the end of replacement buses and the restoration of regular train service.

Regional express trains REX 1781 (Banská Bystrica — Margecany) and REX 1782 (return) will no longer run on weekdays between Banská Bystrica and Červená Skala. These trains will run their full route only on weekends and holidays until June 7, and daily during the peak summer season (from June 13 to September 15). The movement of trains REX 1783 and 1784 will also be restored, connecting Banská Bystrica with Margecany again on a seasonal schedule.

From Monday, May 11, to Friday, May 22, work will begin on the Košice — Koštolany nad Hornádom section. Some REX category trains (line Košice — Prešov — Lipany) will be completely canceled between Košice and Kišak. Trains will run as usual on the Kišak — Prešov — Plaveč section. Passengers can use Os 85xx trains (Prešov — Čierna nad Tisou) or Os 78xx trains (Košice — Svit) with a transfer in Kišak. During the work, regional tickets (in 2nd class carriages without mandatory seat reservation) will be valid on express trains Ex 6xx, Ex 5xx, and Ex 4x on the Košice — Kišak section.

ZSSK recommends that passengers check the updated schedule in advance before traveling, as the changes affect not only the routes but also the exact departure times of regional services.
