A bus arrives at the stop, the doors open — but you cannot get on. Or the opposite: they let you off, but they won't pick you up. Passengers traveling between the Trenčín and Trnava regions might face this situation starting July 15.
The bus company SAD Trenčín announced new rules for stopping at two routes: #30760 (Nové Mesto nad Váhom – Vrbové) and #30765 (Nové Mesto nad Váhom – Považany – Horná Streda – Pobedim – Piešťany). On some stops in the Trnava region, specific bus trips will now operate as "boarding only" or "alighting only." Therefore, it is advisable to check the updated schedule before your trip — the restrictions are marked in it.
The reason is an agreement between two self-governing regions, Trenčiansky and Trnavský. This is part of a larger reorganization of bus transport at the border of the regions: routes and their funding are being redistributed between the regions. Specifically, since January 2026, the county stopped financing some inner-city connections, and the current schedule changes are a continuation of this process, writes Refresher.
What does this mean in practice? If you regularly travel on these routes — to work or to the doctor in Piešťany — check your specific stop: it might have a sign indicating that it is for boarding only or alighting only. Within the Trenčín region, nothing changes; the restrictions apply only within the Trnava region.
The current schedule with restriction markings is published on the SAD Trenčín website. If you are unsure, it is better to check the schedule at home than to find out at the stop when the doors have already closed in front of you.
