From January 1, 2026, the minimum wage will be €915 per month or €5.26 per hour. This is a record increase — €99 more than in 2025. This growth is the largest in Slovakia's history.
💶 The amount is set automatically by a formula: 60% of the average wage for the previous two years. This mechanism was approved by parliament in 2024 with a constitutional majority.
📈 In 2023, the minimum wage was €700, in 2024 — €750, and in 2025 — €816. According to forecasts from the Institute of Social Policy, it could reach €1000 in 2027, and even exceed this limit in 2028.
Payments for night and weekend work are linked to the minimum wage in the country, so the increase will also affect these payments.
- Night hours (+20%) — this is €5.26 × 1.2 ≈ €6.31
- Weekend days (+50%) — this is €5.26 × 1.5 ≈ €7.89
