If you are crossing the border from Ukraine
to Slovakia, which is part of the EU, you should know the
basic rules for non-commercial luggage from a third country. Here is simple and clear information, prepared based on current EU rules. You can find more details on the official website of the

What products are forbidden to bring into Slovakia
— Meat, milk, and products made from them (lard, sausages, canned goods, cheese, yogurt, etc.) — completely forbidden, with no exceptions.
— Plants, fruits, vegetables, seeds, or flowers without a
phytosanitary certificate (exception: pineapples, coconuts, durians, bananas, and dates are allowed without documents).
— Shoes and toys (if not for personal use, they can be considered commercial).
— Lottery tickets, large amounts of jewelry, and precious metals (without
declaration).
— Products with a short shelf life that can pose a risk (e.g., fresh products without certification).
Also, according to Decree No. 17/2025 Coll., a number of agricultural products and foodstuffs from Ukraine or of Ukrainian origin are forbidden to be imported into Slovakia, including:

cane or beet sugar.
What is allowed to bring from Ukraine to Slovakia
— Fish and fishery products (fresh gutted fish, dried, cooked, salted, or smoked fish, shrimp, lobsters) up to 20 kg or the weight of one fish.
— Snails, oysters, or other products of
animal origin (without meat/milk) — up to 2 kg.
— Dried infant milk, baby
food, or special foods for medical purposes — up to 2 kg (does not require refrigeration, packaging intact).
— Other products without meat/milk: bread, pastries, cookies, chocolate, candies, pasta, dry cereals, soup bases.
— Perfumes — up to 250 ml, fuel in a canister — up to 10 L.
— Tobacco: 40 cigarettes, 20 cigarillos (up to 3 g each), 10 cigars, 50 g of tobacco.
— Alcohol: 1 L of spirits (>22%), 2 L of ≤22% (including sparkling wine), 4 L of wine, 16 L of beer.
— Cash: up to €10,000 without declaration (from €10,000 — declaration is mandatory).
— Electronics: for personal use (valued up to €500 without declaration, open packaging).
Medicines and medical supplies: import rules
Medicines can only be brought in for personal use (valued up to €430 per person). Mild medications (painkillers, vitamins) — without a prescription. Strong medications (tranquilizers, psychotropics) — with a prescription and declaration.
Medications containing codeine or ephedrine are forbidden (e.g., "Nurofen Plus", "Ketanov", "Bronholitin"). If you need medication for medical purposes, bring a prescription or a medical
certificate.
