The fee depends on the program: for bachelor's (non-medical) programs — €40, for General Medicine (Všeobecné lekárstvo) — €70, for Dentistry (Zubné lekárstvo) — €100. If an applicant applies for both medicine and dentistry at the same time, they submit one application and pay a single fee of €100. How to apply for medicine (General Medicine) in Martin and where are the entrance tests taken?+

Admission to General Medicine (Všeobecné lekárstvo) is based on a natural sciences test (biology, chemistry) and a general aptitude test. In 2026, an applicant can take the test on one of three chosen dates: March 28, April 25, or May 23, 2026. The test can be taken in person in writing in several cities in Slovakia (Martin, Bratislava, Košice, Banská Bystrica, Prešov, Žilina, Nitra, Poprad, Michalovce) and the Czech Republic, or online.

Each registered applicant receives a coupon for a 100% discount on taking one natural sciences test and one general aptitude test on one of the recognized dates. The application fee for medicine is €70. The application deadline is February 28, 2026.

What bachelor's (non-medical) programs can be studied at the Jessenius Faculty?+

At the bachelor's level, the faculty offers non-medical health specialties: Nursing (Ošetrovateľstvo), Midwifery (Pôrodná asistencia), and Public Health (Verejné zdravotníctvo). This is a shorter (3-year) path to a medical profession compared to general medicine, with a large portion of practical training at the University Hospital Martin.

The academic base is strong: 14 theoretical and preclinical institutes (ústav) and 27 clinics. The diploma for nurse/midwife is recognized in the EU automatically as a regulated profession. Since teaching and practice are conducted in Slovak and involve patient work, confident language skills are mandatory.
