About the Faculty
The Faculty of Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics of Comenius University in Bratislava is a scientific and educational unit where 1525 students study. The structure of the institution includes six departments, including the departments of Informatics, Applied Informatics, Algebra and Geometry, Mathematical Analysis, and Theoretical and Nuclear Physics.
Education is conducted in Slovak and English languages in over 20 programs at the Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctor of Philosophy levels. The educational process focuses on fundamental and applied disciplines in the fields of mathematics, physics, and information technology.
To apply, you must pay a fee of 15 euros. Applications (prihláška) for Bachelor's programs are accepted until April, and additional applications are accepted until August. Students can apply for a dormitory (internát), but its availability is not guaranteed.

Are there entrance exams for FMFI UK (Mathematics, Physics, Informatics)?+
The faculty does not conduct a separate entrance exam. Admission is granted through one of the following ways: results of an authorized math test (percentile), grades/Maturita (high school leaving exam) in a relevant subject, or success in olympiads and competitions.
You can list up to 3 programs by priority on one application form. Successful applicants confirm their interest in studying within a specified period in July 2026.
Studying in Slovak language in full-time form is free; the faculty is considered one of the strongest in Slovakia for mathematics, physics, and informatics.

Is computer science/mathematics at FMFI UK free for Ukrainians?+
Yes. Studying in Slovak language in full-time form within the standard length is free for everyone, including Ukrainians with temporary protection status.
Students of mathematics, physics, and computer science can receive an odborové motivačné štipendium – a motivational scholarship for studying priority fields.
Additionally, a social scholarship (based on financial situation) and a prospechové štipendium for academic achievement are available.
