The center of Košice is currently dug up because of critical problems with drainage. Rainwater was flooding the archaeological museum under Hlavná Street, so builders are now fixing the causes of the floods.
The project includes renewing the pavement, repairing public toilets, and restoring a historical stream. The city also decided to keep the tram tracks to launch rail transport later. They plan to finish the work by September to be ready before the start of the International Peace Marathon.
