An additional office of the migration police has started working in the town of Snina. It is focused on serving citizens of Ukraine who are in Slovakia with temporary protection. The goal of opening this new office is to improve access to administrative services and reduce the workload on other migration service offices in the region. The decision to open the office was made in response to the growing number of applications from Ukrainians.
The office in Snina handles the registration of temporary protection (dočasné útočisko), accepts applications for residence documents, and exchanges paper confirmations of temporary protection for plastic ID cards. This is especially important for Ukrainians living in the eastern part of the country.
