The driver did not stop to help. According to information from the Slovak police, after the collision, he simply drove away and left the victim on the road. No one provided him with first aid.
The investigation quickly led to the car, but the driver was no longer in it. The abandoned BMW was later found abroad, in the village of Rajka in Hungary, near the Slovak border crossing. This suggests that the fugitive may have crossed the border, so the police are not limiting their search to one region: a search has been announced throughout Slovakia, writes Aktuality.sk.
The police of the Bratislava region are asking everyone who might have seen the accident or the fugitive's car. If you have any information, especially recordings from dashcams (from when you were driving in the Čunovo area or towards the Hungarian border last night), please call 158. It is worth remembering: fleeing the scene of a traffic accident with a fatality in Slovakia is a serious crime, punishable by both losing your driving license and a real prison sentence. If you cycle in this area, be especially careful: evening traffic near the waterworks is heavy, and lighting on parts of the road is limited.
