The Slovak Post operator has started a network optimization because most of its branches are unprofitable. There are already 75 proposals to close branches, and the country only needs 852 post offices instead of the current 1317. Therefore, the company is introducing the concept of a "small post office." Starting this summer, postal services will be provided by local authorities, shops, or even village pubs. Using special terminals, customers will be able to receive parcels and registered letters, and by the end of the year, they will also be able to pay SIPO bills, customs duties, and postal money orders.
