From August 3 to 10 in Vrakuňa, traffic will be limited due to the repair of Podpriehradná street

It seems that repairing one street in a residential area is a small matter that only concerns those who live on it. But if you are used to leaving your car on Podpriehradná in Vrakuňa (a district in Bratislava), you will have to find another place for a week: from August 3 to 10, 2026, the road surface will be repaired here.

During this entire time, traffic restrictions will be in place on the street. Whether it will be completely closed or partially open is not yet specified by the district administration — drivers are advised to expect difficulties and, if possible, to bypass this section.

The administration of the Bratislava-Vrakuňa city district asks residents not to park cars on Podpriehradná during the work. The reason is practical: parked cars will interfere with construction equipment, which risks prolonging the repair — and a week of restrictions could turn into a longer period.

Podpriehradná street is a local road for which the district administration is responsible: in Bratislava, roads of classes III and IV are maintained by city districts, while main roads of classes I and II are managed by the magistrate or region. Therefore, both the parking request and the repair itself are the responsibility of Vrakuňa (a district in Bratislava), not the city hall.

By the way, these are not the first roadworks in the district this year. At the end of April, the repair of bridge M9869 on road II/121 began, connecting Vrakuňa with the village Most pri Bratislave over the D4 section — the work to replace expansion joints lasted until mid-June with alternating one-lane traffic.

What to do if you live or work nearby: move your car in advance — already on the evening of August 2, allow extra time for travel in the first days of the work, and follow announcements on the district website, where the restriction scheme may be clarified.
