Just yesterday, Krížna street in Bratislava was just another busy road in the Ružinov district, but today it is the main location on Slovak social media. A video showing a police operation on this very street appeared on Instagram, and the clip started to be shared widely.
According to Startitup, the video was published by the account oscareamonbrophy on July 22. The footage shows police officers working in the city center. There are no explanations in the post, so various theories are emerging in the comments.
What is officially known
The spokesperson for the Regional Police Directorate in Bratislava, Silvia Šimková, confirmed that an operation on Krížna did take place. That is where the specifics end. At the time of the comment, the police were still carrying out procedural actions, so they refused to disclose details – the reasons, circumstances, or if there were any arrests.
The fact of the operation is confirmed, but the details are being kept quiet. This is typical practice when investigative actions are ongoing.
A street with a criminal history
This is not the first time Krížna has made the news. In May 2026, there was an armed robbery of a pawn shop: the attacker drew a weapon inside the establishment, and the police are still looking for him, writes Bratislavaden. And in November 2025, a fire with a gas leak occurred in an abandoned building on the same street.
So it is not surprising that more flashing lights in this location immediately attracted attention.
Context: Bratislava operations in recent months
This year, the city police have been actively working against drug crime. In January, six people were arrested with a large shipment of drugs, and in June, operation "Urus" ended with the arrest of 14 members of an international cartel and the seizure of almost five tons of hard drugs, reports Teraz.sk.
It is unknown if the current operation on Krížna is related to these cases. The police usually return with details when they complete the initial investigative actions. If you live or work nearby, do not panic, but do not be surprised by an increased police presence in the area.
As soon as the police release the details, we will report them.
