Slovakia signed a law on equal pay for men and women

President Pellegrini signed a new law that guarantees income transparency. Employers will state the salary amount in the job offer. Current employees have the right to know the average salary level of their colleagues in the same category, divided by gender. From now on, large companies must report annually on the pay gap. If the gap for the same positions is more than 5% without objective reasons, the employer must fix this unfairness.

Fines of up to 8,000 euros are set for hiding data. The new rules will take effect on June 7, 2026, becoming part of the European labor market transparency strategy.
