On Friday, August 29, Slovakia celebrates the 81st anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising (Slovenské národné povstanie) — one of the most important moments in its history. This is a celebration of freedom, the fight against fascism, and a reminder of the value of democracy and peace.

➡️ On this day, all large stores, supermarkets, and shopping centers will be closed. Only small shops (like Malina, Delia – each neighborhood has its own schedule) and shops at gas stations will be open.

🚌 Public transport will run on a holiday schedule on this day.

If you are planning to shop — it is better to do it in advance so you have everything you need on the holiday!
