On Sunday, October 26, 2025, the Slovak Republic, along with most European Union countries, will switch to winter time. The clocks will change at 03:00 AM, when the hands will be moved back one hour to 02:00 AM.
This means people in the country will be able to sleep one hour longer, but evenings will become darker earlier than during daylight saving time.
Even though the topic of seasonal time change has been discussed at the EU level for many years, a final decision to cancel it has not yet been made. So, in 2026, the switch will continue on the usual schedule:
to daylight saving time – on the night of March 28 to 29,
to winter time – on the night of October 24 to 25.
