Several weeks of sign updates have started on the main roads of the city (routes I/16 and I/20). The National Motorway Company is introducing new rules to improve safety and logistics on key sections from Šaca to the exit towards Prešov.
Main changes:
Šaca — Optima section: the allowed speed is now 100 km/h (except for areas near Pereš, Polov, and Ľudvíkov Dvor).
Airport area: the speed is limited to 80 km/h, and at the interchange near Optima shopping center — to 70 km/h.
Direction towards Prešov (North): the limit is reduced from 130 km/h to 100 km/h.
Aleja — Exit towards Prešov section: the speed is reduced to 70 km/h.
Traffic changes: the acceleration lane from the airport side has been removed due to non-compliance with standards; instead, there will be a safe connection from Slanecká road towards Rožňava.
