The National Agency for Network and Electronic Services (NASES) warns users about a new wave of phishing SMS messages sent by unknown people pretending to be from the official portal slovensko.sk.
Scammers use a fake design of the official portal to trick users. The messages talk about supposed fines that must be paid urgently through a provided link. NASES confirms that these SMS messages are fraudulent, and the portal itself never sends such messages with payment links.
If a user has already responded to a fake SMS and made a payment that resulted in financial loss, NASES recommends contacting the police immediately.
How to recognize fraudulent SMS messages
The portal slovensko.sk does not send messages from phone numbers, especially not from the number +123456789.
Official messages from the portal are notifications to the electronic mailbox (e-schránky), which show the recipient and sender.
No message from slovensko.sk contains external links.
