Reform of overtaking rules for trucks in Slovakia

Transport companies are calling for the EU rule banning trucks over 7.5 tons from overtaking on highways to be canceled. They hope this will improve logistics, but the government is preparing a different plan. The Slovak Minister of Interior stated that there will be no easing of the rules. They are even considering extending the ban to trucks weighing 3.5 tons or more.

The changes aim to make the restrictions clearer for foreign drivers by installing many new road signs. Members of parliament are expected to make the final decision in May.
