All last week, patrols, together with the labor inspection and customs officers, checked trucks and buses for safety compliance. Besides the usual checks of technical condition, vehicle weight, and alcohol tests, the police used drones to record speeding violations and dangerous maneuvers.
Among the violations, speeding and improper cargo securing were most common. They especially checked compliance with mandatory rest breaks to prevent driver fatigue.
