The Ministry of Interior's Inspection searched and detained a department head as part of a case about abuse of office. No official charges have been filed yet. This situation comes after years of complaints from foreigners about not being able to get an appointment for a visit. Because of the artificial shortage of appointment slots, a black market has appeared where bookings are sold for hundreds of euros, which led to the police visit.
