About the University
The Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava is a public university founded in 1949. It has three faculties: Theatre, Music and Dance, and Film and Television. It trains specialists in the fields of performing and audiovisual arts.
Education is conducted exclusively in Slovak. Admission requires mandatory talent examinations, specific to each faculty. Students can receive state scholarships (social or motivational) under Slovak law.
The fee for an electronic application (prihláška) is €40 (paper application is €60). Foreigners without an A2 certificate take a language test for €30 and must reach B1 by the end of their first year. There is no dormitory; students find housing independently.

- Mandatory talent exams (talentové skúšky) that check artistic abilities for the chosen field.
- Each of the 3 faculties (Theater, Music and Dance, Film and Television) has its own application deadlines and exam dates.
- Fee for e-application (e-prihláška) is €40 (paper form is €60); foreigners without a Slovak language certificate (A2) take a language test for €30 and must reach level B1 by the end of the first year.
- The university does not have its own dormitory – due to the reconstruction of the dormitories of Comenius University Bratislava (Univerzita Komenského), students must find housing themselves.
