About the Faculty
The Faculty of Education is a structural part of Trnava University in Trnava. The institution has eight departments, including English and German Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Informatics, as well as departments for Pedagogical Studies, Fine Arts, Slovak Language, and School Pedagogy.
Education is provided in Slovak at the Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral levels. Key areas of study are subject-specific teaching methods and school pedagogy. Students gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed for working in the education sector.
To apply for a Bachelor's program, you must submit an application form (prihláška) by July 15, 2026, and pay a fee of 50 euros. The cost of tuition depends on the student's status. The institution offers accommodation in a dormitory (internát).

Do I need to take entrance exams for the Faculty of Education at Trnava University?+
For most bachelor's programs at the Faculty of Education of TU in Trnava, entrance exams are not required. The application deadline for bachelor's studies is July 15, 2026, which is much later than for technical and medical faculties, so you can still apply even after nostrification of your diploma.
Applications are submitted electronically through the MAIS system. The administrative fee for admission is €50 (the same for electronic and paper forms). For creative and some combined programs (e.g., fine arts education), there may be a practical skills test, which is specified in the program details. How much does tuition cost at the Faculty of Education of TU in Trnava for Ukrainians?+
Full-time study in Slovak within the standard period is free for all students, regardless of citizenship, including Ukrainians with temporary protection status. Fees apply only for exceeding the standard study duration or for a second parallel study program, costing approximately €1070 per academic year.
The only mandatory payment upon admission is the €50 admission fee. Dormitory accommodation and meals are paid separately. Since the language of instruction is Slovak, applicants are expected to have sufficient language proficiency for studies; refugee children usually improve their language skills during the first year.

The faculty prepares teachers and educators through 8 departments. The most popular bachelor's programs are "Predškolská a elementárna pedagogika" (Preschool and Elementary Education, a path to working in kindergartens and primary schools), "Sociálna pedagogika a vychovávateľstvo" (Social Pedagogy), as well as teacher programs in combinations (English, German, Slovak languages, biology, chemistry, mathematics, informatics, history, fine arts).
To teach in a school as a fully qualified teacher, after completing a bachelor's degree (3 years), you must complete a master's degree (2 years). It is the master's degree that grants teaching qualifications. A diploma from a Slovak pedagogical university is recognized in the EU; separate recognition may be required to work within the Ukrainian education system.
