Frequently asked questions about the faculty

Can I study at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of STU in English and how much does it cost?+

Yes, the Faculty of Civil Engineering of STU (Slovak University of Technology) offers an English-language bachelor's program "Civil Engineering" (CExA), in addition to seven Slovak-language programs. For the English-language program, the application fee is €60, while for Slovak-language programs it is €30. This is a convenient option for Ukrainians who do not yet speak Slovak at a sufficient level.

Important: Only studies in Slovak within the standard period are free. English-language studies are usually paid – the fee is determined by the STU rector's directive, so you should check the annual cost of "Civil Engineering" in the program details before applying. The deadline for applications in the 1st round is March 31, 2026.

Are there entrance exams at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of STU and when is the application deadline?+

There are no entrance exams — applicants are admitted based on their high school results (mathematics and physics are considered relevant subjects). The first admission round lasts until March 31, 2026. If places remain, a 2nd round is announced with a deadline of August 3, 2026, giving a chance to those who decided later or completed the nostrification of their diploma.

The application is submitted electronically, the fee is €30 (for Slovak programs). Since competition for technical specialties is usually moderate, the chances of admission are high if you have completed secondary education and have a basic knowledge of Slovak for studying engineering subjects.
