Hospital

Zvolen Hospital (AGEL group)

Type I emergency reception as part of the hospital, phone 045/5201 212. The hospital belongs to the AGEL group.

Whether the emergency room operates 24/7, the official website does not state, and we did not find a separate evening outpatient clinic either at the hospital or on the city's website. Therefore, at night — 155 (ambulance) or 112.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the city

Where to get temporary protection in Zvolen?+

In Zvolen — nowhere: applications for Dočasné útočisko (temporary protection) are accepted only by the foreigners' police, and the nearest office is in Banská Bystrica, Sládkovičova 4343/25, phone +421 961 603 230.

This specific agenda is accepted on Thursdays, 7:30 AM–2:00 PM. You can make a preliminary online registration via portal.minv.sk, but the residence document is issued in person.

Appointments open 21 days in advance. The office serves eight districts, so it's crowded on Thursdays.

When is the Zvolen city hall open?+

Fully — only on Mondays and Wednesdays, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the office is open only until 12:00 PM, on Fridays until 12:30 PM. The cash desk is closed from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM.

The address is Námestie slobody 22, phone 045/5303 111.

So, if you work, you have two real options: Monday or Wednesday.

Where to go at night if you feel sick?+

Honestly: we did not find a separate evening clinic in Zvolen — neither on the hospital's website nor on the city's website. The emergency reception at the hospital on Kuzmányho nábreží 28 is available (phone 045/5201 212), but the official page does not state if it operates 24/7.

Therefore, the rule is simple: if your life is in danger or you are in a serious condition — call 155 (ambulance) or 112. These are national numbers.

If the condition is not critical and you can wait until morning — call the hospital at 045/5201 111 and ask if they are accepting patients.

Before you set off

The application for temporary protection is accepted only at the police for foreigners — and only on Thursdays. The nearest office: Banská Bystrica, Sládkovičova 4343/25, tel. +421 961 603 230, Thursday 7:30 AM–2:00 PM. Registration and issuance of a residence permit are done there.
The city hall has three short days. Monday and Wednesday — until 4:30 PM, and Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday — only until 12:00 PM–12:30 PM. The cashier is closed from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM.

Official pay statistics at city level barely exist in Slovakia, so we show the region and say which one. Office addresses and prices in the guide always carry a source and a date of checking — without those they do not appear here at all.
