University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice is a public institution founded in 1949. It is the only university in Slovakia specializing in veterinary medicine and pharmacy, located in the city of Košice.

This is the only university of veterinary profile in Slovakia. The flagship program is general veterinary medicine (combined degree, 6 years). There is also pharmacy (5 years), food safety (6 years) and a number of bachelor programs: cynology, veterinary nursing, feed and food safety, human-animal interaction in canistherapy.

Applications for bachelor and combined programs (especially veterinary medicine and pharmacy) are accepted until March 31, 2026. For master's-only programs, applications are accepted until May 31, 2026. The application fee is €50.

Full-time study in Slovak at a state university is free within the standard program duration. Part-time study and study beyond the standard duration are paid.
