Yes, for the 2026/2027 academic year, the faculty offers attractive talent scholarships for bachelor's students — a total of up to €12,000 during their studies. This is a tool that the technical university uses to encourage enrollment in less crowded, but in-demand specializations in wood processing and design. The conditions for awarding (academic performance, field) should be clarified in the program details.
Besides the scholarship, full-time study in Slovak is free for everyone, including Ukrainians under temporary protection. The application fee is €35 for most programs or €40 for 'Furniture and Interior Design'. This makes the faculty one of the most financially accessible options for technical education in Slovakia.

What majors, besides furniture, can be studied at the Faculty of Wood Sciences and Technology in Zvolen?+
Despite its name, the faculty is broader than just wood processing: among the 12 departments are fire protection and safety ('Fire Protection and Safety'), economics and management of wood industry enterprises, wooden construction ('Wooden Buildings'), as well as the modern field 'Wood Processing with IT Support' (wood processing with information technology support).
This combination of engineering, design, economics, and material ecology makes the education practical and in-demand — wood as a renewable material is at the center of the European 'green' course. The faculty is located in Zvolen (central Slovakia), a city with a low cost of living, which is convenient for students on a limited budget.
